Have you ever had a gap in-between jobs, a gap too small to tell colleagues about, but a gap big enough that you’d still like to fill it with work?
Well that’s how this idea started for me.


I had 3 weeks off in between jobs and I wished there was a list that all the location department would check, when they’re looking for crew. In my day dream I imagined, next to my name a little tab, “available for the next 3 weeks”.
Then, when Joe Bloggs needed a last minute location manager for two weeks, he or she would see me and say, “Ahh brilliant, Sam’s about - I’ll drop him a call!”

The more I thought about this idea over my time off, the more I started to realise it could be really useful for people looking for crew, or crew looking for work.
Soon after I started my new job I received a message from a friend, in desperate need of a unit manager for a few weeks… I thought, if only Motioncrews was about!


I hope you find this service as useful as I believe it will be. If you have any suggestions on how I can improve it for everyone, please let me know.

There is a dream to all this. If this list proves to be helpful to our department I would love to open the service up to all other departments. Helping everyone from costume to camera get the best jobs available.
